THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

HG Group is looking for a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Support Worker to work within children’s care homes supporting young people under the age of 18. This post will work with young individuals of varying needs and requirements within the Island of Jersey.

In this role, you will provide consistent, person-centred care to children and young people with a range of complex needs, including autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, sensory needs, and behaviours that may challenge. You will play a vital role in promoting emotional well-being, development, safety, and independence in a nurturing residential environment.

Your experience within children’s residential settings will enable you to support young people with daily routines, emotional regulation, communication needs, and positive behaviour support, while ensuring their voices are heard and their individual care plans are followed.

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 6 months of experience working alongside children with LD and Autism at the time of application.
  

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  

• Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centred care.
  

• Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to undergo a DBS check.
  

• Completion of mandatory training relevant to the role (e.g. BLS, Manual Handling, Infection Control, Health and Safety, Safeguarding Adults and Children, and etc).
